Biography:

Suzahn Fiering is an internationally renowned touring artist, songwriter and educator who has been astounding audiences across the globe with her clever compositions, heart-felt performances, and musical prowess. Suzahn has performed Jazz festivals, clubs, concert halls, House Concerts, and Universities (performing and leading Master Classes) world-wide. Sir Paul McCartney and LIPA, (The Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts) presented Suzahn with the “Honored Friend Award”, after she and McCartney co-hosted fundraising events in the US, including Bonnaroo, in Nashville, TN, and The Nationals Stadium, in Washington, D.C.

Suzahn majored in Audio Engineering and Music at SUNY Fredonia and worked in several major studios in New York City including Quad, and Right Track. After moving to Nashville, she worked at MCA Music Publishing, and Gibson Musical Instruments, Suzahn free-lanced as a lighting, audio, video technician and events specialist. While perusing songwriting and honing her jazz guitar chops, Suzahn landed a job as an engineer and producer at Soundwave Recording on Music Row (owned by 4-time Grammy Winner Richard Adler) where she worked for 10 years. They co-produced her critically acclaimed CD, “Paris Without His Kiss”, which was heralded as a sonic masterpiece.

Originally hailing from New York, Suzahn studied acting at the Actors Studio, taught classes at Herbert Bergoff Studios, and won a two year acting scholarship to the Film Actors Institute in New York City. Suzahn worked steadily in off-Broadway productions including leading roles in “Sirens”, and “Angels, Punks and Raging Queens” (produced by Elton John). Suzahn wrote and produced several one-woman shows for theaters on Restaurant Row in Manhattan, and had a regular weekly spot at the original Improv comedy club. The Character Maureen from, “RENT!” was loosely based on experiences from her early life in New York with long-time friend Jonathan Larson. Suzahn is a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, and Actor’s Equity.

Suzahn is the creator, composer, and producer of, Bourbon On Broadway, a new musical-comedy with a social justice twist about the history of Bourbon.  Bourbon On Broadway, ran to critical acclaim in the world-renown off-Broadway theater, “Don’t Tell Mama” in 2023. Bourbon On Broadway,  will run again in New York and in select theaters across the US in 2024.

On stage, in studios, and in production, Suzahn has worked with a who’s who of legends including Paul McCartney, Roger Daltry, John Entwhistle, Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono, Larry Gatlin, Pete Seeger, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Reba McIntyre, Glen Campbell, Ashley Judd, Gloria Steinem, the Honorable Al Gore, and many more. The Jazz list includes Jeff Coffin, Victor & Reggie Wooten, Chic Corea, Mel Lewis, Will Lee, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Donald Brown, Alan Barnes, Digby Fairweather, and even Jaco Pastorius, to name a few.

Suzahn has original songs in over 40 network television shows played in over 40 countries including Oprah, Desperate Housewives, Kyote Ugly, Disney, ESPN, BET, National Geographic, Nickelodeon and more and in numerous independent films world-wide. Her national jingles (USA) include Certs, Dr. Pepper and Pillsbury. Suzahn has 4 songs in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC, and 2 in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Her appearances include, The Copenhagen Jazz Festival, The Birmingham UK International Jazz Festival (5 years in a row), The Marbella Spain Jazz Festival, La Festival de la Terre in Paris France, The New York City Folk Festival, performances at Lincoln Center (NYC),  Carnegie Hall, and many more.

Suzahn leads Master Classes throughout Europe and the US including la legion d’honneur ecole in Paris, NYU, Vanderbilt, Stamford, Baisin Scuola Musica, Liverpool Institute For The Performing Arts (LIPA), Waterbear (Liverpool) and many more..

Suzahn Fiering is a master certified professional coach (MPCP) helping clients achieve their career goals in and out of the music industry.

Suzahn’s Jazz Guitar instructional book, The Layering Method, is out for publication and available to students on-line.
